OK, as it’s now been 26 days since my operation (it feels like way more than that, almost a distant memory) and I’ve back at work for a week so I thought I’d better make a positive step and crack on with my training/weight loss. I resumed my training plan this morning.
As I’m still under doctors orders to take it easy I’ve done just that this morning, though realistically I don’t think I could have managed much more anyway. I had a look through the training plan that I was following and dropped a couple of weeks off of it and resumed it at week 4 session 1, Couch to 5k – C25K Running Program.
Today’s 30 minute treadmill session was as follows;
00:00-5:00: Warmup walk
26:30-30:00: Cooldown Walk
In this 30 minute session I managed to cover a paltry 2.16 miles, but it’s an encouraging start. It was definitely way way easier than when I did week 4 last time around. Looking back last time I did this session I managed to cover 2.04 miles, so certainly some small improvement shown there.
I found that I managed to complete it with relative ease…. though admittedly I was puffing a bit after the 20 minute mark. The three weeks or so of sitting on my arse watching the complete Heroes box set and doing naff all else has certainly taken it’s toll on my stamina, though weighing myself this morning it’s not as bad as I thought. I’m down to 115.8kg which is the lowest weight I’ve been since I started on all of this, I reckon another week and I’ll be back under 18 stone, not bad when you consider I wasn’t far off 21 stone when I started this thread.
