When I wake up, well I know I’m gonna be,
I’m gonna be the man who wakes up next to you.
When I go out, yeah I know I’m gonna be,
I’m gonna be the man who goes along with you.
The Proclaimers famously sung about 500 miles, they would walk 500 miles and walk 500 more to be the man that walked 1000 miles….or so the story goes. Well I’ve now clocked up 500 miles with Runkeeper, the tool that I use to help me track my exercise, not bad for a fat bloke you’ll have to agree. Admittedly these miles have been tracked over a couple of years, but there were large periods of complete inactivity during that time.
Still, It’s quite a nice milestone to reach, but do you know what, I now want to get that to 1000 miles, just to be the man that clocked up 1000 miles! It would be nice to complete that by the end of 2012, which is certainly doable and is a good target to aim for.
Weight wise, it’s still coming off, I weighed in at 113kg dead this morning, which puts me back on track despite my Christmas blip!! I’ve now lost 16kg since I started, that’s 35lbs or 2 1/2 stone, which is great. I’ve still want to lose about another stone or two and get down to 16 stone, which would be a drop of almost 5 stone from where I started.
I’ve got about 30 days left until my Sport Relief challenge, which I’m not feeling great about at the moment. I’m not yet at a level where I can run 3 miles without a break, however brief. I don’t want to have to stop and walk any of it, that would be a massive fail in my books. And so training continues, I must do it, I will do it, I’m going to do it..
