Running without music

I’ve recently switched from always running with music to running without and soaking up the sounds around me, listening to my breathing and footfall.

I did this because the races that I’ve run all have a no headphones policy and I found that the first time I ran without music I was surprised at just how bad my breathing was, I sounded like some sort of crank caller with my heavy breathing and wheezing!!

I’ve definitely improved since switching to running without music and found that it really adds an extra depth to your running.
